Some people think I'm crazy for pursuing my own dreams, and perhaps they are true, but to be completely honest with you:
Sometimes you need to be a little crazy to do it, and you need to believe in yourself, even when some of your friends don't believe in you, even when some members of your family don't believe in you, even when some of your colleagues don't truly understand why I have to be "working on my own stuff" very late.
The wake-up call
2022 has been a wake-up call for me:
Many incredible people have lost their stable jobs, some of them after many years in the same company. So: if you think that you can not lose your job in a blink of an eye, think again my friend.
Global inflation has affected every family on Earth. According to Financial Times, the annual % of consumer price index has increased dramatically in countries like Germany (10.4% in October 2022), the United States (8.3%), United Kingdom (10.1%). So, it’s not pretty.
Some of my friends have lost their homes because they could not afford the monthly mortgage payments, and some of them can’t even pay the most basic bills. The situation is very tough in the U.S: According to a recent survey from LendingTree, nearly half of those who were recently late with a payment say it was a utility bill (46%), followed by a credit card (39%) or cable or internet bill (34%). Women cite utility bills as the main culprit (51%), while men say it’s credit card debt (42%).
Other friends have to take a very uncomfortable decision to let go of amazing employees in their companies because they can't pay them
The current environment is very tough and challenging, but take this time as a wake-up call to:
Build that business you are thinking of building
You will never know if you don’t try. Perhaps you could build something amazing like Alex West (founder and CEO of Cyberleads), Damon Chen (founder of Testimonial.to, seeyafuture.me, embed.so, and supportman.io) or Reilly Chase (founder of Hostifi):
$2M ARR 🔥
I spent $300K to buy back 8% from @calmfund and own 96% of the business now

I deeply admire all these people not because they are smarter or wiser than me (Cough, they are :) ), I admire them because they had the courage to go against the waves and pursue their dreams, they had the courage to believe in themselves.
There are tons of opportunities out there to be pursued. You just have to believe in yourself.
I want to finish this post with an amazing video from TD Jakes, where he pushes you to have the courage to pursue your own dreams:
It’s time my friend. It’s time.

Some of you have asked me directly if there is a way you could support my work. This is a perfect way that I found.
It’s that simple: If your company is hiring new Data Analytics people, share the link to the Talent Collective with them, or if you know someone who is actively looking for this kind of role, feel free to send it as well.
